Anxiety 03:25 video
Anxiety, anxiety mourn cells and crave endorphins this drudgery, this drudgery 5 meals and 40 hours anxiety, anxiety dare we do call it suffering? it’s vanity, it’s vanity but you’ve heard that one before… “Settle down” you said, no one likes a pariah take 48 hours and don’t you be a martyr Don’t you be a martyr. Opportunity, opportunity digging holes or working lunches wage slavery, wage slavery nobody owes you nothing productivity, productivity self or state medication what do you wanna be? What do you wanna be? They call this life or something 7lbs of flesh and what’s left? 7lbs of flesh and blood don’t you be a martyr
2.
Isolation 02:55
The temperature is falling the tide is coming in fleeing a sinking ship throw caution to the wind the captain blind with alcohol steered straight into a glacier in nationalist frenzy shackled to a mast And I hope your flag keeps you warm you’ll be a lucky man enjoy your isolation thrashing with the drowning rats a childhood memory – your wedding day (Mazel Tov) your high school graduation flashes by in seconds enjoy your isolation A demagogue is gasping for air a mile deep see how the mighty fall even rabid wolves can weep apostles clutch at dead wood now drifting on the surface the others fled, so now what? God is dead Sanctity in a familiar face never escape from your cage dressed head to toe in your colours your windows and doors they stay closed
3.
Futurecide 02:59
First they came for the air a fallout like industrial soviet towns population dregs swim with 3-eyed fish Futurecide is here and there’s nothing left Infanticide is real through your ignorance A generation sick the next one wish they’d never been born at all evolution ends with our poison genes Futurecide is here and there’s nothing left Infanticide is real through your ignorance Lunatics unhinged and dumb – the skies turn red Futurecide is here and there’s nothing left Evolution ends with our poison genes oceans running black but eyes see only green
4.
Radicals 03:39
It’s the same line as before vacant, dead-eyed expressions it’s the same old shit as always, the same line as before What happened to the Radicals? They gave it all Where is all the fire at? We might as well disintegrate It’s the same line as before vacant, dead-eyed expressions it’s the same old shit as always, the same line as before
5.
Dali Alarma 04:07
Save me Salvador from hell reality atemporal we thought we had it all but how could we have known? The sky is falling in memory distortion – Dali Alarma help me understand, is this the end? Existence bittersweet the hours melt in the heat canvas oil bleeds but how could I ever leave? this is all I know The sky is falling in memory distortion – Dali Alarma help me understand, you’re my only friend is this the end?
6.
Speak Now 04:05
The fear, the drug, the cage, the judge the red, the white, the blue the cycle, duress, the G4S the rubber, the bullets, the guns Stand and spit scream and kick or hold forever your tongue Utilitarian worth can’t harbour empathy Material lust no place for humanity The violence, the greed, the hand that feeds the doubt, the silence, the cold a token, a pawn, expendable another faux-luxury slum Stand and spit scream and kick or hold forever your tongue there’s no hope no love, no mercy in markets no justice is done You stand complicit in Chelsea tenements
7.
Aurora 03:32
You’ll walk forever the same way as the earth spins and it always wins You take a deep breath no savouring oxygen all is harvested The light draws closer aurora ever nearer and never so bright Endlessly. Patiently. For distant sanctuary. Don’t wait til you’re blind to bathe in incandescent rays til your body’s not what it was and you squint so hard Don’t wait til you’re blind to bathe in incandescent rays a lifetime chasing peace and you’re on your knees You’re always watching the world pass by your window in sepia tones If you stare too long you’ll have to wait a lifetime until your knees creak Blisters heal. Start again. And just accept the pain.
8.
Does a myth make a man live forever or do the scars remain? Will you worship a bag of bones and cast aside the pain? Forever reading history through rose-tinted glass undone by devils in detail, or do you dream at last? Hope exists in the immortal myth it exists Do you have the strength to breathe in cold analysis? Or do we need a fairy-tale to save us from abyss? If you only knew the truth would you believe in luck? The first to condemn ignorance but still prey to her above Don’t expect the world from human beings Churchill was a drunk Nightingale a fraud Che Guevara fell Obama couldn’t fix… But truth can be a bitch
9.
What’s happening? What have we done? Lighting cigarettes doused in petroleum cheer fireworks, celebrate good luck a shooting star, atmospheric lust Millennia of this flesh disease kiss the sun it tastes like heaven just a lick of devastation What are we watching? The northern lights? So powerful, so hearts burning bright What about tomorrow, will we still wake up? Disco dancing off the edge of the earth Stop the world The walls are falling down on us breathe deep and don’t be scared of love everything’s crumbling around us so live every day like it’s your last
10.
A photograph a letter, a post-it note memories birthday cards and books Half a century and all that’s left is ash clinging to your essence with only paper scraps Where are you now? Is it a quiet place? Where are you now? Are you in outer space? Religious types call it eternal peace hippies say it’s something to do with LSD Half a century and all that’s left are cracks wearing down a needle until the deafening scratch Where are you now? A paranormal thing? Where are you now? Can you still hear me sing? A “paranormal” something sounds like superstition says it gives us everything How liberating is it? Could you come and visit? And would you even leave a trace? Theology it questions sometimes even reckons mostly it just says nothing Ethereal something something something something seems to leave me lost for words Where are you now? I hope it isn’t far where are you now? Can you still play guitar? So save a place for me your favourite bastard son and let me know which planet you’re on I’m coming by someday but it may take a while I’ve got some stuff to do… So write me back someday soon?
